About Isaac

Isaac Salazar joined the Maryland Democratic Party staff in September 2009 as the Director of New Media. Isaac has worked on Capitol Hill for Senators Sarbanes and Cardin (as well as for then-Rep. Cardin) of Maryland as well as on a number of political campaigns. Isaac considers himself an “accidental techie” who fell into the social media scene by developing an online presence for Enterprise Community Partners. His personal addiction to playing online came in handy.

Isaac grew up just outside of Washington, D.C. in Burtonsville, MD but he loves all things Baltimore. He currently lives in Silver Spring, MD and enjoys reality T.V., Chipotle and pop-music, in that order.

About Maureen

Maureen Higgins joined the Maryland Democratic Party part-time in August 2009 as a staff assistant, but to most of her colleagues, she’s a veteran. Maureen’s first experience working at the Party was as an intern in the summer of 2008. After spending a few years outside of Maryland getting her Bachelor’s degree from George Mason and her Master’s degree from American University, the Columbia, MD native returned to work full time at the Maryland Democratic Party as a Media Relations Assistant.

When Maureen isn’t blogging or updating facebook for work, she enjoys blogging and updating facebook.

About Amy

Amy Becker joined the Maryland Democratic Party staff in September 2010 as a blogger/correspondent and all around Renaissance woman. Amy first experienced working on campaigns when she interned for the Democratic National Committee during the summer of 2008. Prior to getting bit by the political bug, Amy was on the other side of the fold, working as a political radio reporter at the Missouri state capital.

Amy is originally from a small village in western Nebraska, making her a die-hard Husker football fan that will always miss the Big 12. In her mythical free time, she’s teaching herself French; how to play the guitar and piano.

About Susan

Susan Turnbull, MDP Chair since February 2009, previously served as Vice Chair of the Democratic National Committee and as Maryland’s National Committeewoman since 1992. She has traveled across the country and world campaigning for Democrats. She is happy to get to sleep in her own bed in this new role, but has already racked up 10,000 miles driving around Maryland in her hybrid.

As Chair of JWI-Jewish Women International, Susan leads the Board of a non-profit devoted to efforts to combat domestic violence and encourage financial literacy for women. She is also an incoming Vice Chair of the Jewish Council for Public Affairs and a Board Member of Hillel International.

She works way too much, but when she isn’t on her laptop she really likes to hang out on her porch painting, plays with her wii or bake terrific cookies.

Susan and her husband Bruce live in Bethesda, Maryland. Ask her about Josh and David – she’s the proud Mom of two great guys.
