Romney’s record of flip-flopping, constant reinvention, and deliberate lying disqualifies him in the eyes of voters. He has no core and can’t be trusted
The Maryland Democratic Party today held a press conference call with Democratic Whip Steny Hoyer and Maryland Democratic Party Chair Yvette Lewis to discuss Mitt Romney’s policies, which are wrong for women, students, seniors and Maryland families.
Mitt Romney, who is holding a townhall in Arbutus, has no core and will do or say anything to get elected. Even though Romney has described himself as “severely conservative” and has continuously pandered to the far-right wing of the Republican Party, a top adviser today went so far as saying that Romney would erase his ultra-conservative positions “like an Etch A Sketch” once he is the nominee. Romney’s record of inconsistency, flip-flopping and reinvention disqualifies him in the eyes of voters.

Please find the following statements from today’s call:
Maryland Democratic Party Chair Yvette Lewis
In Romney’s ever-lengthening quest to appeal to the far right wing of the Republican Party, he has taken dangerous positions on women’s health care, Medicare and our country’s well being that are out of step with most Americans. Mitt Romney and House Republicans’ vision for the future isn’t a vision at all. Their commitment to the extreme will leave millions of seniors, women and the middle class completely and totally on their own.
House Democratic Whip Steny Hoyer
When compared to the priorities of the President and Democrats, the Romney-Ryan budget stands in stark contrast and demonstrates where each party’s priorities lie. And that is what this election is all about – who is on the side of working people and the middle class. What is very evident is that Mitt Romney and House Republicans care more about the wealthiest in our nation as opposed to a fiscally sustainable path, working people, investments in growing our economy and jobs
Make no mistake: Romney has become the most extreme candidate on many issues most recently issues affecting women in this country.
Last week Mitt Romney said, he would “get rid of Planned Parenthood,” and Monday night he had no answer for a young Bradley University student who asked where 3 million women would get preventative care without Planned Parenthood. The truth is, that the three million people a year who rely on Planned Parenthood as their only affordable option for preventive health care would be left to fend for themselves. Including, the 23,000 residents that Planned Parenthood of Maryland provided services, such as cervical cancer screenings, breast exams, birth control and other critical care to in 2010.
In Romney’s ever-lengthening quest to appeal to the far right wing of the Republican Party, he has taken positions from women’s health care to our country’s well-being that are dangerous and out of step with most Americans
Mitt Romney and the House Republicans vision for the future isn’t a vision at all. Their commitment to the extreme will leave millions of seniors, women and the middle class completely and totally on their own.
