We are so proud of the herculean efforts of the thousands of men and women clearing our roads and responding to our emergencies this week.
Please read this important message from our Governor on how each of us can do our part.
“Neighbors are really going to have to help neighbors as we dig out from this record snow fall. It will be days before many side streets are opened, and we’ll all be driving on snowpack for some time until mother nature helps us with warmer temperatures. Please work with your neighbors to help seniors and other vulnerable citizens in your community. Send me stories of neighbors helping neighbors so I can share them through the media with public at large. Thanks for rising to the challenge. One Maryland.” - Gov. Martin O’Malley
Stay safe and warm.
As we continue to dig out from the Blizzard of 2010, we’re finding all sorts of great images of the latest snurricane. The Baltimore Sun and The Washington Post both have great photo galleries.
The folks over at Center Maryland also have an image that caught our eye. It’s not snow related but it’s certainly worth a thousand words.
It’s also a good reminder of who left Maryland with a structural deficit and who has been working hard to dig us out of it.
From Donna Edwards for Congress:
Congresswoman Edwards’ rescheduled party will take place this Saturday, January 30, 2010. As luck would have it, current weather reports indicate the chance for inclement weather yet again this weekend. While we have dealt with bad weather in the past, as we did on election day in February 2008 braving snow and ice, an e-mail update will be sent in advance if the weather becomes unsafe. We are need of volunteers to work the event. If you would like to volunteer please also contact Adrienne. As always, thank you for all your support and hope to see you there on Saturday.
Date: Saturday, January 30, 2010
Time: 7pm – 10pmLocation:
Oxon Hill Manor
