Today, Maryland Democrats including Senator Ben Cardin, Congressman Elijah Cummings, Delegate Sandy Rosenberg, Maryland Democratic Party Chair Susan W. Turnbull, and Maryland Democratic Party Voter Protection Director Amanda LaForge joined together at a press conference to warn voters about Bob Ehrlich’s history of using dirty 11th hour tricks to try to win elections.
Despite the numerous news reports about Ehrlich distributing campaign fliers in 2002 and 2006 designed to lead voters into thinking that Congressman Cummings and other Democrats supported the Ehrlich/Steele ticket, Bob Ehrlich has yet to come clean or pledge not to do it again.
It was with great joy that I watched today as the Senate confirmed President Obama’s nomination of Solicitor General Elena Kagan to the Supreme Court. The President and Senate Democrats are to be commended on her swift confirmation. I look forward to the day, very soon, when Elena Kagan will be sworn in as our country’s fourth-ever female Supreme Court Justice. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated an unparalleled commitment to justice for all Americans in keeping with their rights under the Constitution of the United States and the laws of our country. I have full faith that she will uphold justice for all Marylanders and Americans from every state on the Supreme Court and I look forward to her service on that Court.
In case you missed it, here’s last Friday’s episode of State Circle with Jeff Salkin on Maryland Public Television. Maryland Democratic Party Chair Susan Turnbull went head to head with MD GOP Chair Audrey Scott on several issues including Bob Ehrlich’s running mate. The program also highlighted the impact of social media on the 2010 elections in Maryland.
